Important Projects

These are a few specific projects that are very important to me, along with explanations of the capacity of my involvement with them and what skills I was able to use to make them.

Mando's Bounty

Mando's Bounty is an extremely important trailer to me, as it was possibly the first trailer that I had the heaviest hand in out of all the capture artists working on it. Shots 1, 2, 3, and 4 were all shots that I led the setup to, then captured using Fortnite's Replay system. I also planned, set up, and captured the last gameplay shot. This trailer marked the beginning of when I became fully trusted to lead the team.

Ferrari 296 GTB

Myself and one other capture artist were put on this special request project as the sole artists to create it with an extremely tight deadline. We planned, staged, and captured the trailer, iterating on every note that we received both internally and from Ferrari, until we made a short, awesome trailer for the new car.

THE SCOTTS Music Video

The Travis Scott event was, at the time, the biggest event in Fortnite's history and the biggest project the Capture Team had ever taken on. Interestingly enough, it was also the second project I captured Replay shots for, as well as the first I captured gameplay shots for. As a surprise to the Capture Team, our shots, many of which are ones that I captured, were used to create a music video for THE SCOTTS, Travis Scott's new (at the time) single.

Valley of the Ancients

I was the sole capture artist chosen to help the Unreal Engine 5 team capture cinematic and gameplay shots for the Valley of the Ancients technical demo. I got to work very closely with the team to control the main character to smoothly show what the team worked on, as well as captured most of the drone cameras that showed off landscapes and the Ancient robot.

Fortnitemares 2021

During a large portion of this Fortnitemares trailer, I was working on another special project, but I was called in at the last minute to help light and capture the last 4 shots. The lighting was very exciting, as we got to get creative with it thanks to the loose and fun nature of the trailer, and the shots were difficult but fun to capture thanks to technical issues with the stage's spotlights.

Joy Ride

The Joy Ride Update trailer was another one of my earliest trailers, the first where I was able to not only input, but capture my ideas for scenes. The drift by the exploding gas station, as well as the truck ramping into the helicopter were scenes that I captured during previs, then owned until we finished the trailer. It marked the beginning of my deep dive into the Replay tool, capturing shots, and cinematography.
